Are you trapped in the Financial Freedom Matrix? Recently Natali and I watched the Matrix again, and this time I viewed it through the lens of a real estate investor. I immediately noticed many similarities between being living in the Matrix and following traditional advice about wealth building and retirement planning.
On this episode of Investing in Real Estate, I’m sharing how traditional investing is a lot like the comfortable false reality of the Matrix. I’ll share specific examples from popular advertisements, and share some literature you can study to pull away from the Matrix! Don’t miss this episode of Investing in Real Estate!

Something I’ve noticed about real estate investors is that most of us have failed in some way. But truly successful investors fail hard and fast, and don’t let their shortcomings stop them from reaching their goals.
Today’s guest, Abhi Golhar experienced tremendous failure early in his real estate career, but has since recovered and found success in the industry. On this episode of Investing in Real Estate, Abhi is sharing his journey into the world of real estate, including how he has reverse engineered his lifestyle. We’ll talk about failing gracefully, purchasing discounted properties, and his personal acquisition strategy!

In my experience talking to investors, men specifically have difficulty being vulnerable. Many of us become consumed by our ego, and feel like we have to put on a façade. In reality, this does us no favors; it keeps us from growing, investing, and building wealth.
On today’s show, I’m excited to sit down with my friend Lewis Howes to talk about his new book, The Mask of Masculinity. We’ll discuss how we as men can hold ourselves responsible, and how to begin responding with compassion instead of reacting negatively. We’ll also talk about setting your intention every day, investing passively, and much more! Lewis has so much insight to share, you won’t want to miss episode 226 of Investing in Real Estate!

My favorite tax accountant Tom Wheelwright likes to say, “if you’re a real estate investor and you’re paying taxes, then you’re doing it wrong.” One of the top benefits of real estate investing is the enormous overall implication on your tax burden.
On this episode of Investing in Real Estate, I’m sharing eight deductions your tax advisor should be accounting for. I’ll talk about expenses like travel, education, and much more. If you want to make sure you have all your bases covered in order to lower your taxes, don’t miss episode 225!

Deciding to purchase your first primary residence is a big step, but so is becoming a real estate investor. If you’ve got the cash and are ready to purchase a home, should it be your own living space, or a rental? On today’s show, Natali and I are sitting down to hash out this question! This episode was inspired by a listener question. And although we aren’t financial advisors, we thought this was an interesting topic to discuss!
On today’s show, you’ll hear us make arguments for both camps, and share the pros and cons of purchasing your primary residence. Don’t miss episode 223 of Investing in Real Estate!

One of the main pieces of advice I give people is to not fall in love with real estate, and instead focus on return on investment. The reason why I have to constantly repeat this mantra is because it’s really easy to fall into this trap! In fact, it just happened to me this weekend. I almost abandoned my entire real estate philosophy!
On this episode of Investing in Real Estate, I’m sharing my story of almost purchasing a vacation rental in Maine. I’ll discuss how I got an idyllic notion in my head, and how I came back down to reality. This is a tale that all investors need to be reminded of; don’t miss episode 222 of Investing in Real Estate!

One of our first-ever case study episodes highlighted the story of a new real estate investor who set a goal to replace his income from his photography business with passive income. Josh Koth’s story was already one of my favorites, but since that initial interview, he’s made incredible strides in his real estate career.
On this episode of Investing in Real Estate, Josh is back to share how he’s exponentially grown his real estate portfolio in just one year. He also brought along his business partner Jack Hoss! On today’s show, they’re sharing how their partnership works, their acquisition strategy, and so much more!

I’ve been poor, and I’ve been wealthy. You might be surprised to learn that the biggest difference between the two is not about money, but more so about mindset. The good news is, if you’re purposeful you can change your mindset, which will in turn change your financial situation.
On this episode of Investing in Real Estate, Natali and I are discussing wealth consciousness, and how to manifest wealth in your life. We’ll talk about identifying self-sabotaging thoughts, and dismissing fear-based ideas about money. If you’re ready to change the way you think about wealth creation, this episode is for you!

The entire point of this show is to help people create wealth through real estate. For many people, there’s a paradigm shift that must occur in order to take those steps forward. Changing your mindset begins with developing a sense of self-awareness, and releasing limiting beliefs and habits that no longer align with your goals.

We’ve had many guests here on the podcast who have educated us on the Infinite Banking Concept. This is a strategy that uses whole life insurance to create a banking system within your own finances. It’s an incredibly effective strategy, and can be used for purchasing cash flowing real estate.
But for whatever reason, it’s a strategy I have not yet utilized in our personal portfolio. On this episode of Investing in Real Estate, Natali and I are starting to get our feet wet in the world of investing with life insurance! We’ll give an overview of some of the questions we asked an expert, and how we plan to use this tool in our overall investing strategy. Don’t miss episode 217 of Investing in Real Estate!
